Filiz Kerestecioğlu is unable to talk at the Feminism in London conference.

'Just before the elections on 1st November, the AKP regime has increased its pressure throughout the arrests and surveiliance of the members or sympathisers of The Peoples' Democratic Party (Turkish: Halkların Demokratik Partisi (HDP), Kurdish: Partiya Demokratîk a Gelan). The situation in Turkey becomes very difficult for any form of opposition including women and feminists to have a voice.'

Filiz Kerestecioğlu is a member of the People's Democratic Party and feels she must stay in Turkey where she can offer most support to those who need it.

Feminism in London reaches out in solidarity and hopes that Filiz can come and talk in 2016.
