MEGAN ARMITAGE

Megan Armitage is a 19-year-old University student from Halifax. She is the great-granddaughter of Bradford Suffragette Lilian Armitage who was arrested and sentenced to 14 days in Royal Holloway Prison for storming Parliament in February 1907.

Megan has recently taken a more avid interest in her family history, attending the Bradford Heritage Day’s celebration of pioneering women, where in her great-grandmother was celebrated. She also attended and spoke at the Bradford Council Meeting in which it was decided that a street in the Manningham area be named ‘Lilian Armitage Close’.
