Kongosi is a community development worker, a peace campaigner and human rights activist from DRCongo. Kongosi is one of the 1000 women proposed for the Nobel Peace Price in 2005. Kongosi is an executive member of Common Cause UK, a member of UK WILPF, member of the Conflict Resolution Centre (CRC) of Bradford and an activist of the Bradford Congo Campaign. Kongosi has a background in psychology and education science and holds a Masters in Peace Studies from Bradford University where she wrote about "The use of rape as weapon of war". She has been a peace and human rights activist since the 1994 ethnic clashes in the great laskes regions of Africa, particularly in the East of the DRC. Kongosi has worked in the DRCongo for several decades as teacher and supported victims of sexual abuse in East of the Congo during the 1996-2002 war. Kongosi co-founded the Centre Résolution Conflits (CRC) in the DRC; before fleeing to the UK. The Conflict Resolution Centre (CRC) is a community-led peace and conflict resolution-training centre. Kongosi had volunteered with Amnesty International in talking about of the situation of women in war zones.
