Having started as a volunteer for a South Asian Woman’s peer support group in 2014, Masira is now a Community Development Worker at Sharing Voices Bradford. Her work involves empowering women from BME backgrounds to prioritise their own mental wellbeing, and actively ensures the inequalities for this client group are addressed. Masira is also the current co-chair of the Women’s Health Network, a collective of people working in unison to improve the lives’ of women and families in Bradford. Her passions include working to destigmatise attitudes, encouraging conversations around mental health, ensuring equity across services and communities, and providing a platform for women’s voices to be heard.
