JULIE LONGDEN

Julie grew up on council estates in Bradford and still lives in the community. She is an activist and anti-poverty and anti-racist campaigner and now has a youth and community degree. She has worked in factories, as a hospital cleaner and care worker. As a volunteer she has run many groups and was a founder member of Hope Rising Action Group, which is campaigning against austerity. Julie became a climate activist because she understands the intersections of capitalism, classism and racism and climate injustice. She is a facilitator with Sustaining All Life and Extinction Rebellion. Having worked for twenty years as a community development worker on Bradford estates, she is currently working at Bradford Community Broadcasting radio station, where she is the Engagement Worker for Marginalised Communities
