WHITE PRIVILEGE: A FEMINIST ISSUE (?)

Critical reflection on the colonial matrix held by certain racist repetitions among activists in Brazil. looking at cases lived by me, I aim to explain how, in interracial contexts (especially in the feminist and / or LGBTQIA + movements), accusations of racism are refuted by white activists, isolating black activists and and threatening our ability to live and work together.

TRANSNATIONAL NARRATIVES OF BLACK WOMEN:-
FOR THE CONFRONTATION OF PATRIARCHAL RACISM AND COLONIALISM IN LATIN AMERICA

The talk aims to present the perspective of exchange, partnership and institutional strengthening dialogue among black and feminist medias in Latin America, specially in countries: Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Argentina and Peru. The proposal that will be developed also aims to build collective strategies amid these medias to highlight discourses on politics, democracy, racism, sexism and media control in Latin America, in addition to reflecting collectively on how hegemonic medias act on establishing racist, sexist and stigmatising imaginations regarding black women. The project also aims to reflect ways of building and strengthening of partnerships between black and feminist medias and women’s movements in Latin America.

INDIGENOUS WOMEN PROTAGONISM

Since time immemorial, we, indigenous women, have been using the knowledge that our ancestors (great-grandmothers, grandmothers, mothers) have passed on to us to take care of our families, our land, our rivers. That knowledge has crossed generations and has been used to guide the good living within our people. We are protagonists in this united fight for nature’s protection, for life’s protection in this land. This gift has been given to us so we can become guardians on Earth. In present times like these, we understand that this fight surpasses the borders of our houses, our “aldeias” (villages) and the territories we live in, because we are losing a lot of warrior women – without these warriors, our Mother Earth is vulnerable, so fighting for all women is also our fight, it’s a fight for the guarantee of life on Earth.
