Through the personal experiences of three Palestinian women we aim to show the increasing difficulties of life in Palestine today caused by the illegal actions of the Israeli government; how this particularly affects life for women; and how, through their bravery and resilience, they are resisting both at home in Palestine and by their campaigning here in Britain

WOMEN IN HEBRON: EMPOWERMENT UNDER OCCUPATION
NAWAL SLEMIAH
In her talk, Nawal will speak on the historical and cultural significance behind Palestinian embroidery and handicrafts, a tradition that has been exclusively undertaken, sustained and revitalized by Palestinian women, her reasons for founding the Cooperative and how it has positively impacted the lives of the members. Nawal will also speak on the need for continued international support and advocacy for the work of Palestinian women and its significance for the Palestinian national cause.

This talk will describe the daily struggle for Palestinian women in Gaza to pursue their dreams and support their loved ones despite recurrent Israeli military assaults, siege and hardship.
