Rosemary Morris has been associated with India since 1981 when she moved to India there with her husband & two young children. Since 2001 she has worked alongside partners helping to establish schools, primary health care and vocational training for Dalit communities throughout India.
She has been active in various aspects of human rights relating to trafficking of the Dalit women in India, working very closely through Dalit Freedom Network. In 2001 she was involved in working with partners in Gujarat with aid for victims of the earthquake, then after the massacre of Muslims in 2002, visiting the camps and helping compile a report of the atrocities that took place.
In 2007 she was involved in visiting displaced people in Orissa after the burning, destroying property and raping of Christians in Kandamal.
