Antonia Ruppel

Antonia Ruppel has a PhD in Classics from Cambridge and is an amateur photo- and calligrapher. She just spent a decade teaching Latin, Greek and Sanskrit at Cornell University and is now teaching Sanskrit and Classics at St James Senior Boys School south-west of London. She thinks of the St James Schools' project of reintroducing Sanskrit into secondary schools as a bit of a 19th-century revival, but in a good way: this time around, women participate as equals and no one is being colonised.
