Leda Garina, born in 1981, graduated from the Russian State Institute of Performing Arts in 2008, with a degree in Stage Direction. She is a Stage Director in St.Petersburg’s theatre “Looking Glass”, a performance artist and coordinator of "Eve's Ribs" project - a feminist socio-cultural communicative platform, based in St Petersburg, that carries out feminist projects and actions in Russia and Finland.
Tactics and Strategies of Modern Feminism in Russia
I will speak about how the shift to the right in the Russian politics, and a number of laws discriminating against women, provoked a boost of feminist movement in Russia, and also why they are the most promising among civil initiatives. I will also explain which methods “Eve's Ribs” – a feminist platform I am coordinating - is using to unite these movements in Russia and abroad.
