Helen Mott does feminist activism, campaigning, research and policy work.  Her academic background is in social psychology and her PhD was on the everyday psychology of workplace sexual harassment. Her ongoing campaigning work concerning sexual ‘entertainment’ venues is related to her particular interest in how we can change cultures of discrimination and violence against women and girls. Local and national projects she has been involved with in this area include helping to develop the Bristol Ideal programme to tackle sexism and violence in schools, and co-creating The Intervention Initiative which is a ‘bystander intervention’ programme to prevent violence against women in universities.  Helen has been involved with a wide range of feminist activist projects in her home city of Bristol from challenging austerity to promoting women’s representation in public life.  Helen co-founded Bristol Fawcett in 2001, was a trustee of the Fawcett Society for a number of years and is a Commissioner on Bristol Women’s Commission.
