ANGELES ANCHOU WITH PILAR GOLDMANN

Angeles Anchou (b.1976, Mar del Plata, Argentina) is an underground feminist activist and part of the abolitionist movement in Argentina. Committed with collective action, she can´t be traced by her own name on social networks. Since 2007 is part of Desobediencia y Felicidad, a group that made stencils and wheatpasted street poster art. Their works on the streets are always anonymous as they understand art as a consciousness raising action, within everyone´s grasps.  In 2015 they converged with other groups that shared their notion of subversion of individualist, exclusionary and patriarchal notion of art and formed the #VivasNosQueremos Graphic Campaign in Argentine, following the example of their Mexican sisters. She graduated from Universidad de Buenos Aires with a degree in political science and it is making a PhD on Oral History. She works on a feminist project called “Gafas Violetas” (violet glasses) for gender equality at the Instituto Nacional de Cine y Artes Audiovisuales (INCAA- National Film Institut). She is also part of the Coalition Against Traffiking in Women in Latinoamerica and Caribe (CATW-LAC)
