Dr. Pragya Agarwal is Indian-British, a creative and social entrepreneur, TEDx speaker, writer, and mother of three girls. Pragya founded the social enterprise and think-tank The Art tiffin to address gender equality, diversity and women's rights, and tackle loneliness and mental well-being with creativity. Pragya studied Architecture in New Delhi and then completed her Masters from the University of York and a Ph.D. from The University of Nottingham. She was the first ever female lecturer appointed in the Engineering department at University College London and has worked as a Senior Academic in some of the top UK and US Universities. Pragya has been an invited guest on several international podcasts, BBC Breakfast, Radio 5 Live, BBC Merseyside and other radio channels worldwide. Pragya is the founder and co-organiser of the first-ever TEDx Women conference in the North, TEDxFormbyPointWomen to be held at TATE Liverpool on 7 December 2018, aimed at bringing diverse intersectional female voices to the region.
Pragya runs diversity audits, talks and workshops on unconscious bias for organisations, and sexism workshops in schools, and she regularly writes for The Guardian, Metro, Huffington Post, Times Higher Education, and Forbes.
