Khedijah is a founding Member of the Network of Eritrean Women, an organisation that is full of courageous, compassionate and competent Eritrean women who raise the voices of Eritrean Women and represent Eritrea on a world stage campaigning for justice, freedom and peace in Eritrea. The Network of Eritrean Women UK (NEW UK) was founded in 2014 to promote women's rights; raise awareness within the Eritrean community towards ending gender inequalities, violence against women and harmful traditions. Their organisation also works with young girls and unaccompanied minors from Eritrea. Their services currently include providing advice and information to empower and develop knowledge and skills of Eritrean women, as well as promote the physical and mental well-being of these women by providing health information, advice, training, support and facilitating workshops. Khedijah is also involved with the Voices of African Women campaign of UK WILPF, advancing African women’s rights and also working on the promotion of the UN SCR1325 on Women, Peace and Security as well as raising awareness on the Maputo Protocol on the rights of women in Africa.
