#FriendsOfFIL - introducing Victims2SurvivorsUK @victimsurvivors

Victims2Survivors UK is a non-profit organisation that aims to provide information to victims of rape, sexual assault and other sex crimes in the UK.

Their website provides information on what to do in an emergency, factual and contact information of organisations available to help victims, and advice for friends and family supporting a victim of sexual violence.

Victims, friends and families, and charities are welcome to share their own stories of survival on the Victims2Survivors UK blog, which aims to empower victims by giving them a platform to have their voices heard.

Recently, Victims2Survivors UK coordinated a group of 12 survivors to work together in order to produce an inspiration article sharing the different coping methods they have all developed in order to heal and move forward with their lives.

The website also has a legal information section that explains the law in a detailed but easy-to-understand way – for every single sexual crime in England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

As well as their website, they are also involved in promoting consent education, and are working to develop links with universities to educate students about healthy, consensual sexual relationships.

They are also leading a campaign to get Yahoo to provide a way for revenge porn victims to make link deletion requests. Yahoo is the only major search engine that does not offer victims a way to report such material, since Google and Bing both introduced link removal forms for victims of revenge porn earlier this year.
