As a grassroots group, we rely on volunteers to make everything possible.

FiLiA is a Women-led volunteer organisation. We began back in 2012 with 2 volunteers and now we have over 70! Below are our current vacancies, but if you wish to create another role that you feel will benefit FiLiA and the Women’s Liberation Movement, please e-mail info@filia.org.uk.

To apply for any of the roles below, please write to us at info@filia.org.uk with some information about yourself, including relevant experience; why you would like to take the role on; how you can be as effective as possible and ask any questions you may have. Please familiarise yourself with the politics of FiLiA before applying.

When do you start?

Immediately

Who do you report in to?

We are all in this together. You will work closely with the trustees to ensure that your work aligns with the politics and ethos of FiLiA but this role is one to make your own.

What experience do you need to have?

You must be passionate about Women’s Rights, organised and determined. Other than that – no previous experience is necessary.

FiLiA recognises that the Women’s movement loses out if it is not informed by the voices and experiences of marginalised Women in our community. Consequently, we particularly welcome Women who are less often heard or purposefully silenced to join us as volunteers.
We aim for FiLiA volunteers to be as diverse as the Women we work with and for.

If you need to submit your application in an alternative format or require reasonable adjustments during the recruitment and selection process please contact us at inclusion@filia.org.uk

FiLiA Hague Mothers Campaign

ADMIN AND PROJECT SUPPORT
FiLiA HAGUE MOTHERS

Are you superbly well-organised with excellent writing, communication and research skills?

And are you interested in working with Women across the world to help safeguard mothers and children who are victims of domestic violence/abuse, improve their access to justice, and challenge an international treaty?

If so please read on.

FiLiA is a grassroots women's charity, which launched in 2012 to continue the Feminism in London conferences. It has since extended its reach by hosting conferences across the UK in Manchester (Salford), Bradford, Portsmouth, Cardiff and, most recently, Glasgow in 2023, where it sold out with around 1,450 attendees. FiLiA's scope now encompasses direct involvement with women in these cities, as well as nationally and globally, with its overarching aims being to build sisterhood and solidarity, amplify the voices of women and to defend women's human rights.

The FiLiA Hague Mother's campaign was set up in 2022 with the specific aim of ending the injustices caused by the Hague Abduction Convention for victim-survivors of domestic violence/abuse. Our voluntary international team of lawyers, academics, DV professionals, child psychologists, trauma experts, and Hague mothers themselves, has achieved an enormous amount since our inception. We now have one-year's funding from Treebeard Trust to move to the next, more strategic, phase of our campaign. And we need an Admin & Project Support person to help us do that.
