FIL sends submission to the UN Special Rapporteur on Torture

The UN Special Rapporteur on Torture is producing a report in March 2016 on gender perspectives on torture.

Feminism in London has submitted a report focusing on non-state torture - where treatment which amounts to torture or inhuman and degrading treatment is inflicted by individuals, rather than members of the state.  From exploitation in prostitution to domestic abuse to forced marriage, this disproportionately affects women. We have called on the Special Rapporteur to recognise non-state torture within his report.
