#80 FiLiA meets: Marie Laguerre

Marie Laguerre is a French feminist and author. She was assaulted on the street by a man during the summer of 2018. She posted the video of the attack online, which became viral and drew media attention. Marie used the opportunity to raise awareness about violence against women and sexism in general. The man who physically assaulted her was convicted to prison. The event also led to her being harassed online by hundreds of people, mostly men. On this podcast, Marie speaks to FiLiA spokeswoman Gemma Aitchison about her experiences.

Marie Laguerre spoke at the FiLiA Conference in 2019 - “From being catcalled and punched in the street to cyber harassment - a story of sexist violence.” Marie’s book Rebellez-Vous with Laurène Daycard is available in to read in French.
