The series of posters/quotes #RiseUpAgainstOppression, assembled by the European Network of Migrant Women and supported by FiLiA, represents diverse & global voices of women - feminist activists, scholars, legal experts and politicians, some of whom are also sex trade survivors - concerned with the issues of sexual violence, exploitation and prostitution. The collection explores male control and sexual oppression of female bodies, at the intersections with capitalism, colonialism, poverty, racism, migration, sexuality and LGBT, as well as the everlasting moral questions of “choice”, “freedom”, “rights” and “responsibilities”. The idea of this collection is to position the debate on prostitution within wider framework on human rights and let the viewer reflect on multiple ways in which patriarchal violence against women is interlinked with other forms of systemic inequalities.
