FiLiA has always taken an unapologetic abolitionist view of the sex industry. Many times we have been challenged, usually via long emails from academics or shouty students holding placards (incidentally the same student population which is targeted by lobbyists for the sex trade due to their age and relative poverty).

A lot has happened in a short space of time. Hoping that you are all safe and well, and finding ways to look after yourselves whilst in isolation or managing social distancing.

The FiLiA team has continued to keep busy.

Each year local Women contribute to the shaping of the conference and take part as speakers, artists, stall holders and volunteers. It’s become an important part of the FiLiA story and has resulted in many new connections between Women that simply did not exist before.

A small number of the FiLiA team visited the Portsmouth Guildhall again to have another look around. We went along with our new arts lead, who came away very excited about the potential. We will be creating a venue and logistics page soon with all the information you need for your visit.
